Emoji have become so essential to digital communication for many of us. Just as written language evolves, emoji themselves must keep up with the times. For this reason, new emojis with new meanings will soon arrive to WhatsApp.
Up to 31 new emojisThe Unicode Consortium is in charge of selecting the candidates and updating the emoji library annually. Last September, version 15.0 of Unicode was approved, it includes a whopping 4,489 new characters, of which 21 are new emojis destined to reach smartphones and computers.
Apple, Microsoft and Samsung have to start integrating these new emoji in their keyboard and software applications. This also applies to Android. This is expected to happen before the end of 2022, but there is no exact date.

In WhatsApp Web we can mark a message as unread. This is interesting so that we do not forget that we have to read something. To do this, simply click with the second mouse button on the name of the user or group and click on Mark as unread.

Luckily WhatsApp Web allows us to take keyboard shortcuts to send emojis. To do this we have to write the colon symbol and followed by the word that represents the emoji. For example if we want to send the flag of France, it would be “:France” and it will appear. The same if we want to send a sad face, that would be “:sad”. It appears above different emojis, in case there are several, that adapt to that word.
The solution is to open one of these accounts in incognito mode. This way we will be able to have two accounts connected at the same time without creating incompatibility. This applies to the main browsers.
